I AM HONORED THAT YOU ARE READING THIS RIGHT NOW!

It is an honor to know and be connected to people. Life is a gift best shared and celebrated. I would love to celebrate this gift we call life with you and the people you hold dear to your heart!

I want to help empower you to make choices to not only help to heal you from the hurt of your past, but to grow and thrive in your life to become the best person you can become. We have one life on this planet, why not live it to the fullest in every possible way through our relationships with ourselves and with others? I want to help you learn to let go of the old lens of hurt and put on a new pair filled with healing and restoration so that you can see the world through a lens of endless possibilities.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I have been a therapist in the state of Michigan since 2012. Before I decided to work in the best job ever, I did some other amazing work with people from teaching youth in the public school system, to adult, young adult, couples, kid and youth ministries, to teaching English as a Second Language to an amazing group of adults in Southern California, to providing case management, advocacy, consultation and support for families through several grassroots organizations in West Michigan and in Southern California.

I completed my undergraduate work in English at Calvin College. I have a Master’s Degree from Western Michigan University in Counselor Education, Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy.

I am a fully Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a fully Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have worked with individuals, families, couples, parents, children, tweens, adolescents and adults in individual services, family services and in groups in a variety of ways from outpatient to home-based services and from treatments that we create as a team based-upon specific need to already existing evidence-based treatments. I am a certified PMTO (Parent Management Training – Oregon Model) Therapist, certified PREPARE/ENRICH therapist and have some training in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Gottman, Imago Couple’s Therapy, Sex Therapy and in Grief and Grieving. I provide counseling services for individuals, couples, families and groups and offer clinical supervision to limited licensed counselors (LLPC) and limited licensed marriage and family therapists (LLMFT) through both individual and group supervision.

I believe that each individual is special and unique and that we are all equal regardless of our class, race, gender, sexual orientation, faith practices or capabilities. I also believe that we will have success when we work together as a team by merging your learning styles, background, story, personality, and goals with my skills, experience and expertise. Your growth and success is serious business to me and I will do the best that I can to help walk along-side you in this season of your life to not just heal and grow but also to THRIVE in every aspect of your life!!!

YOU CAN LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE

My ultimate goal is to create validating, non-judgmental environment to help you feel safe and comfortable. I believe in offering support, guidance and knowledge to each of my clients.I have been trained in DBT therapy to teach you skills to manage emotions, improve relationships, and modify behaviors. You can develop the healthy life you desire. Humans experience emotions! Sometimes we may think there is a right way and a wrong way to feel and distress means, we are feeling the wrong way. That is a ton of pressure! Sometimes, our emotions become distressing. Few are taught to manage emotions effectively and distress can lead to self-blame, defeated feelings, strained relationships, self-harm, and more.

I WOULD BE HONORED TO HELP YOU!

I believe in treating clients holistically. We are more than our mental health. We are all individuals and our experiences are unique. My clinical focus is creating an environment that is safe, unique to your personal needs, and promotes personal growth. We will work together to replace unhealthy coping with positive skills, proven to work.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I graduated with my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. I am a fully licensed LLP and an LPC. I have been working in the field of counseling for many years and have received instruction in the areas of Parenting, Trauma, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, CBT. and Anxiety. However, the greatest instruction I have received is the variety of experiences I have overcome, in my own life. I specialize in helping people feel empowered to take the control back of their emotions, their past, their circumstances, their relationships and ultimately their lives.

I work with individuals and families from various cultural backgrounds, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

You are reading this to decide if I have the tools to help you with whatever circumstance brought you here today. I believe I do have the tools you need. I think everyone is valuable and has the ability to learn skills to overcome their circumstances and become the person they would like to be. You are strong enough, important enough and deserving of growth and healing, and I will do my best to help you grow, heal and THRIVE in everything you encounter.

LET’S MAKE YOUR EXPERIENCE POSITIVE AND SOMETHING YOU LOOK FORWARD TO

I enjoy working with people of various cultures and ages. I spent a large portion of my earlier years working with adolescents and teaching parenting groups utilizing the STEP program. I greatly enjoy the individual and couple journey of therapy; particularly as they navigate the challenges we all face in life may it be depression, anxiety, or the infidelity of a partner. It's during those times self-care and treating ourselves with care is most important. I enjoy being a part of people's journey and helping them to achieve their goal.

Together we will put a considerable amount of time and energy into our sessions. I want your experience to be positive and something you look forward to. It is important you play an active role in sessions and at home with the things that we discuss. I love working with my clients and watching them change their lives.

I look forward to meeting you!

LET'S WORK TOGETHER TO MEET YOUR GOALS!

I enjoy seeing clients who feel motivated to make changes in their lives, even if they don't know how or where to begin. Working through grief and loss, dealing with anxiety and depression, struggling with employment issues or academic concerns, and so many other parts of life can feel overwhelming and impossible. Motivation for positive, meaningful changes in life is the first step towards making those changes a reality.

It is my belief that the most effective therapy is when all parties involved work as a team towards the same goal. Therefore, my role as a counselor is to support you, cooperating with you to create and meet treatment plan goals. Your problems are valid and worth discussing, so let's work together to take those next few steps, and create a structure for positive growth in the future!

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I am a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan. I received my undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, and received my Master's Degree for Clinical Counseling from Aquinas College. I have worked with adolescents, teens, adults, individuals, families, and groups. I primarily practice counseling using Person-Centered Therapy techniques. I also have education and experience using Family-Systems Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy techniques.

In my practice, I place the greatest emphasis on the client's words and experiences. I encourage my clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and concerns openly, and help them to process feelings or develop new perspectives. I also help my clients to set short-term, achievable objectives, which will help them move towards long-term goals. I hope that together, we can make progress towards your goals!

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

First thing you need to know about me is that I'm a giant nerd. I will often recommend books, movies, videos, podcasts, and TedTalks to my clients when their subject matter is connected to our discussions. When I'm not working, I'm playing with my fur niece, reading (fantasy, non-fiction, romances/romantic comedies), hanging out with friends and family, collaging, cleaning (yes, for fun), and laughing alongside my favorite YouTubers.

Taking the first step and asking for help can be hard and opening up to a stranger can feel even more uncomfortable. I strive to bridge that gap and make starting therapy just a little bit easier. My approach blends evidence-based practices like CBT, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness because therapy should meet you where you are.

Beyond the modalities and credentials, my own journey of healing and self-discovery led me to what I believe is my divine purpose: walking alongside people as they navigate life’s highs and lows, helping them move toward healing and inner peace.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS ALREADY WITHIN YOU AND WE WILL COLLABORATE TO CREATE THE NECESSARY TOOLS TO ACCESS YOUR TRUTHS, SKILLS AND GOALS.

I am honored to be able to work with you and I strive to create a trusting and supportive counseling relationship that embodies empathy, understanding, and collaboration.

I am in my second year of study for my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Kentucky, and I am very excited to join the talented Thrive team.

Our sessions together will focus on things like overcoming life's obstacles and challenges, processing trauma, discovering and honoring your authentic self, living in your truth, overcoming negative self-talk and low self-esteem, and setting goals for the future. My style aligns strongly with Thrive's person-centered, strengths-based approach, where you are the director of your own life and I am here to provide a helping hand!

Using an integrative framework, some of the techniques I draw from are person-centered, narrative, cognitive behavioral, compassion-based, and Adlerian therapies.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I love to read (anything fiction!), get hooked on good TV series and movies, go on adventure walks with my pup, figure out new ways to entertain my cat, go work out at the gym (usually), and make bad crafts (cross-stitching and crocheting, lately). I also turned into a crazy plant lady during the pandemic and have a house full of plants to take care of with (almost) zero regrets.
